BAFTA 2010: Carey Mulligan, Best Actress for An Education

Carey Mulligan, received the Best Actress Award for 'An Education'; at Orange 2010 British Academy Film Awards Press Room at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

Carey Mulligan beat actresses including Meryl Streep and Audrey Tautou to win her prize. Mulligan, 24, said, "I was here a year ago and I didn't imagine in a million years that this would happen… I wish I could do a speech like Colin Firth and talk about fridges but I can't." Mulligan's performance as a precocious 1960s schoolgirl brought the only BAFTA win for the film ‘An Education’ though it had eight nominations.
