Alex von Furstenberg: designer and business philanthropist

Alex von Furstenberg (also known as Alexandre von Fürstenberg) is born in the Furstenberg family, numerous members of which have risen to prominence over the centuries as churchmen, diplomats, academics, fashion designers and industrialists. He is Co-Managing Member and Chief Investment Officer of Arrow Capital Management LLC, a New York based investment firm focused on opportunistic, catalyst-driven global public equities. Since 2001 Alex has acted as Chief Investment Officer of Arrow Investments Inc, a private investment office that serves the Diller von Furstenberg family.

Alex led the restructuring of Diane von Furstenberg Studio LP, a global luxury lifestyle brand, taking it from US$1 million in annual revenue to more than US$200 million. He remains a Partner and Director in the company. He also serves on the board of directors of IAC/InterActiveCorp, US-based internet conglomerate with over 50 brands across 40 countries, and on the board of W.P. Stewart & Co Ltd, a Bermuda-based asset management firm. He began his career in 1993 as a trader on Allen & Company’s Risk Arbitrage Desk.

Alex von Furstenberg, who is a designer and business philanthropist, currently serves as Director and Secretary of the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation, which is managed by Alex, his mother Diane von Furstenberg, his stepfather Barry Diller, the CEO of IAC/InterActiveCorp, and his sister Tatiana von Furstenberg.
