Alicia Keys gave birth to a baby boy

Alicia Keys, 29, gave birth to a son on Thursday, October 14, 2010 in New York City. Keys and her rapper husband Swizz Beatz are celebrating the arrival of their first child. The couple has named their son Egypt Daoud Dean.

The rapper posted the news on Twitter, "I'm so thankful for everything I been blessed with in my life, wowwww!"

Keys married Swizz Beatz (real name is Kasseem Dean), in July this year. The pair met while working on writing and producing Whitney Houston's album ‘I Look To You’.

Beatz has three children from his previous relationships: two sons, Prince Nasir Dean (10), Kasseem Dean Jr (4), and a one-year-old daughter.

In May 2010 Keys and Swizz Beatz confirmed that they were engaged and expecting a child together. During the time of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the couple had the unborn child blessed in a Zulu ceremony, which took place in the Illovo suburb of South Africa.

Keys and Swizz Beatz held a wedding celebration on the French island of Corsica on July 31, 2010. But a civil ceremony is mandatory to make the marriage legal in the United States.

So, their wedding in USA was presided over by Deepak Chopra, Indian American public speaker, endocrinologist, writer on Ayurveda, New Age spirituality and mind-body medicine, and a top former assistant to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The guests included Bono and actress and rapper Queen Latifah.

In the beginning of her career, Keys made guest appearances on several television series, beginning with ‘Charmed’. She made her film debut in ‘Smokin' Aces’ and later appeared in ‘The Nanny Diaries’.

Her third studio album, As I Am, sold six million copies worldwide, earning Keys an additional three Grammy Awards. The following year, she appeared in The Secret Life of Bees, which earned her a nomination at the NAACP Image Awards.

She released her fourth album, The Element of Freedom, in December 2009, which became Keys' first chart-topping album in the United Kingdom.

Keys has won has won several prestigious awards including 12 Grammy awards. She has sold over 30 million albums worldwide since releasing her first album, ‘Songs in A Minor’, in 2001.

The Billboard magazine named her the top R&B artist of the 2000 -2009 decade, establishing herself as one of the best-selling artists of her time. In 2010, VH1 included Keys on its list of the ‘100 Greatest Artists of All Time’.

Tiger Wood Girls' catfight and threat of sex tape release

It seems Tiger Woods is not out of the woods so far, as more and more steamy stuff tumbles out of his cupboard. At one hand, now there is a threat from Porn actress Devon James and her husband, adult film producer Nick James, who claimed that they will release a ‘Tiger Woods Sex Tape’ on Friday, and on the other hand there is a catfight between two of his alleged busty ex-mistresses Devon James and Joslyn James.

Gossip sources and news sites reported about two of the several Tiger Wood's ex-mistresses getting into a catfight, exchanging death threats and one of them reporting the other to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Joslyn James sent a hate-filled email to Devon’s manager, to which allegedly Devon wrote back threatening to kill her. The row followed from when the duo appeared in a Tiger Woods porn spoof. Joslyn went to the LAPD on Tuesday and filed a report, claiming Devon, who attempted to fake a love child and Tiger Woods sex tape, threatened her life. However, LAPD is investigating the threat, the news sources added.

It may be recalled that in June Devon James alleged that Tiger Woods, who was the father of her son, born nine years ago, and filed a claim challenging Tiger woods to submit to a DNA test, but according to reports, the paternity suit was dismissed by a Florida court in August.

The Golf superstar Tiger Woods' cheating on Elin Nordegren was a very sad story in terms of his family breaking up, and the tarnishing of one of sports' most beloved icons. The case created a big sensation when it broke out and several brands endorses were affected, and the loss was estimated in billions of dollars in sales of sports goods, clothing and others endorsed by Woods.

In the meanwhile, there are reports quoting Nick James, husband of Devon James, telling nothing can stop Tiger Woods sex tape with Devon hitting the market. “I was told there was a bid by his (Wood’s) lawyers to buy out the tape, but so far no deal has been struck and I don’t it will be , either”, he said.

According to Devon, the 62-minute tape starring Woods will be opened online today. She sold the tape to a DVD company for $350,000, a newspaper report said.

Lindsay Lohan in Betty Ford Clinic for cocaine de-addiction

Celebrity news sources report that the American pop singer and model Lindsay Lohan, 24, being treated for cocaine addiction at the Betty Ford Clinic in Los Angeles. Earlier, Lindsay had confessed to experimenting with drugs, and now Lohan is undergoing a rehab treatment program as she has a dependency for the ‘Class A’ drug.

Lohan has already failed two drug tests last month, and the actress is now due in court Oct 22 for a probation hearing. Lohan has served 13 days of a 90-day jail term behind bars in July, and returned to the prison following the failed drug tests, only to end up spending just a few of hours behind bars after posting a $300,000 bail. She then voluntarily checked into the Betty Ford Clinic.

“Lindsay's primary problem is cocaine. She went through a thorough assessment, and it was discovered that she has a high dependence for cocaine,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted a source as saying about Lohan. “At this point, Lindsay is at a critical point of her detoxification and recovery, and she is doing well.”

Lindsay Lohan has her own treatment team comprising of a personal physician, psychologist, primary counselor, spiritual care counselor, family counselor, case manager, fitness trainer, nurse, dietician, and chemical dependency technician in the de-addiction facility.

Lindsay Lohan gained celebrity fame between 2003 and 2005 with leading roles in the films Freaky Friday, Mean Girls and Herbie: Fully Loaded, and appearing in films including Robert Altman's A Prairie Home Companion and Emilio Estevez's Bobby.

Lohan’s career was interrupted in 2007 as two driving under the influence (DUI) incidents and three visits to drug rehabilitation facilities, costing her dearly as she lost several movie deals.

On resuming her career, Lohan guest-starred in the TV series Ugly Betty (2008), Labor Pains (2009), and appeared in Robert Rodriguez's Machete in 2010. She re-launched her pop music career in 2004 with the album Speak and followed it up with A Little More Personal (Raw) in 2005.

In her probation revocation hearing on July 6, the judge determined that Lohan had violated the terms of her probation and sentenced her to 90 days in jail starting from July 20, and ordered Lohan to check into an inpatient rehab program for three months after her release from jail.

When Lohan appeared in court on July 20, she was taken into custody to begin her jail term, but she was released on August 2 after serving 14 days of prison term. However, she was taken to an inpatient rehabilitation facility where she was expected to stay for another 90 days.

On August 24 Lohan was released after only 23 days. She was ordered to submit to random drug and alcohol screenings and attend psychotherapy and behavior therapy twice a week. Any failure to attend the sessions or to pass the drug tests could result in a 30-day jail sentence.

In early August, Lohan's mother said that Lohan intends to move back to New York once she finishes drug rehabilitation. But after media reports on September 17, Lohan confirmed via Twitter that she failed a drug test, "prepared to face the consequences".

After a hearing on September 24, when the judge ordered a preliminary revocation of Lohan's probation, she was denied bail and sent back to jail. Later the same day, after Lohan's lawyer filed an appeal, another judge granted her bail on the grounds that she had only committed misdemeanors, and she was released from jail after posting $300,000 bail.

The movie ‘Eat Pray Love’, based on the memoir ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ by Elizabeth Gilbert, and co-written and directed by Ryan Murphy opened in USA on August 13, 2010.

Eat Pray Love stars Julia Roberts (as Elizabeth Gilbert), Billy Crudup (as Steven, Gilbert's former husband), James Franco (as David), Javier Bardem (as Felipe, a man Gilbert falls in love with on her journey), Viola Davis (as Delia, Gilbert's best friend), Richard Jenkins (as Richard, a Texan whom Gilbert befriends at an Indian ashram), Rushita Singh (as Tulsi, Gilbert's best friend at the Indian ashram), Christine Hakim (as Wayan, Gilbert's best friend in Bali), Anakia Lapae (as Tutti, Wayan's daughter), Arlene Tur (as Armenia, Wayan's best friend), Hadi Subiyanto (as Ketut Liyer, Gilbert's advisor in Bali), Tuva Novotny (as Sofi, Gilbert's best friend in Rome), and El Hadji Diouf (as Koko, a man Gilbert meets in Senegal).

Elizabeth (Liz) Gilbert had ecerything a modern woman dreams about achieving – a successful career, a husband, and a nice house, and yet, like several other women, she found herself lost. She realizes she is not getting what she wants out of life, and opts for a painful divorce. Now at crossroads, she gets out of her comfort zone and embarks upon a journey, a quest for self-discovery that takes her around the world. In the process she discovers the joys of eating in Italy and the power of prayer and meditation in India. Finally, and unexpectedly, she discovers true love in Bali, Indonesia.

From August 2009, Eat Pray Love began filming in at locations that include New York City, Naples (Italy), Pataudi (India) and Bali (Indonesia). A few Balinese were used in the production, though the two Balinese lead characters (Ketut Liyer and Wayan) are played by non-Balinese actors.

The film has received mixed reviews. Rotten Tomatoes gave an overall approval rating of 38 per cent, stating, "The scenery is nice to look at, and Julia Roberts is as luminous as ever, but without the spiritual and emotional weight of the book that inspired it, Eat Pray Love is too shallow to resonate."

Wesley Morris of The Boston Globe gave the film 3 out of 4 stars. San Francisco Chronicle film critic Mick LaSalle overall positively reviewed the film and praised Ryan Murphy's ‘sensitive and tasteful direction’.

In The Huffington Post, critic Jenna Busch wrote, “Eat Pray Love is ultimately charming and inspirational. Though it doesn't have quite the impact of the book, it will likely leave you pondering your life choices and forgiving your flaws. It will certainly have you forgiving the few flaws in the film. The performances are just too fantastic, the vistas too lovely to pay too much attention to anything else.”

In the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, journalist Curzio Maltese wrote, “How many platitudes fit in a two-hour-twenty-minutes-long movie? Several, if Eat Pray Love is anything to go by… Goes without saying that the story would've surprised us more if Julia had found out how well one can eat in Mumbai, how much they pray in Indonesia, and how one can fall in love even in the Grande Raccordo Anulare, possibly avoiding rush hour.”

Expecting a huge box-office response, the film’s marketers created over 400 merchandising tie-ups, to sell products such as jewelry, perfume, tea, gelato machines, an Indonesian bench, prayer beads, etc. But, marketing a wide range of products not actually featured in the film brought criticism from the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Washington Post and the Huffington Post.

Audiences too had a sharply divided opinion; some viewed it as ‘inspirational and moving’ and others saw it as a celebration of a ‘shallow’ woman's narcissism. However, the film, made on a budget of $60 million has so far grossed approximately $120 million at the box office.

Sienna Miller, Britain's #5 Best Dressed Woman

Sienna Miller, originally uploaded by HeadSwapHarry.

Recently about 25,000 people voted online to tabulate Britain’s ‘Best Dressed’ men and woman’s list in which actress, model, and fashion designer Sienna Miller was placed at #5 spot. The first spot went to Emma Watson, followed by Victoria Beckham, Keira Knightley and Cheryl Cole in a poll conducted by Glamour.Com.

Miller, 28, best known for her roles in Layer Cake, Alfie, Factory Girl, The Edge of Love and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, was spotted in the last week of September with Jude Law, 37, at C London restaurant.

It has been getting colder in the last week in London, but Sienna Miller and Jude Law were looking as stylish as ever on an evening out. Miller was wrapped up in a fur coat over taupe shorts and a matching top while Jude Law wore a dark grey suit, white shirt and black bowler hat, reports said.

Earlier, Miller's relationship with her Alfie co-star Jude Law was cheap fodder for the entertainment gossip media, when on Christmas Day of 2004, the couple became engaged.
